Let Me Get This Straight
Trump was elected in 2016 to serve his four year term. At that time, Trump committed to not support Russia and it's president, Vladimir Putin. At that same time, Trump also committed to honor the national security position of the U.S. Now, ten years later, does it not seem that Trump is overtly supporting Russia in their invasion campaign against Ukraine? One may wonder what's going on geopolitically.
Let me Get This Straight - Further Details
Recently, President Trump is upset at Ukraine and President Zelensky for attacking Russian refineries, and according to Trump, causing a spike in diesel fuel. Indeed, Ukraine is targeting energy areas in Russia because Russia is targeting civilians (violation of the laws of war). Zelensky wrote recently on Twitter, “Any de-escalation steps must be reciprocal and backed by real guarantees.” In addition, Ukraine is targeting these areas to prevent Russia from gaining foreign currency to help fund the war. A war that Russia initiated by invading Ukraine. It appears that Trump gambles thinking he can coax Ukraine to not attack the Russian refineries without any concession by Putin and Russia. Last weekend, he also said Ukraine needs “a new president.” Maybe Zelensky isn't a tyrant but the other guy is; at least someone in South or North Dakota might say that he’s wheeling and dealing for the American people. Indeed, is he genuinely working on behalf of all Americans and its institutions?

Perhaps someone is not connecting the dots and isn’t looking at world geopolitics from a holistic perspective. In order for Trump to look good, Trump has decided to buy Russian energy, at a time where world supplies are low, demand exceeds supply, so Russia receives top dollar for exporting energy to the US. Not sure how much forethought went into this deal but for those Americans who don’t trust Russia and cheers for Ukraine and sovereign nations, this is a gut punch. This deal Trump recently made will help the aggressor in their war against Ukraine. With limited support for Ukraine during the second Trump administration, what does Ukraine have to gain by bending down to the USA? Zelensky wants to but can’t trust this current administration; struggling a bit with their foreign policy challenges.
In the meantime, the United States has been at war with Iran since early March with no end in sight. This unnecessary war, initiated by Trump and Netanyahu (Israel) has primarily caused a spike in gas and diesel prices. Will Trump look inward and realize that his geopolitical fumble is causing a rise in inflation at home? Indeed, it has a lot less to do with Ukraine attacking the Russia refineries. In addition, Russia is supplying materials and money to Iran in its war against the United States. Let me get this straight, Russia is aiding Iran in killing Americans in the Persian Gulf but Trump doesn’t blink and decides to cut a deal with the Russians. Superficial and disingenuous anyone? So, instead of focusing on ending the war in Iran, to reduce fuel prices, he’s scolding Ukraine for attacking Russia. Besides, wasn’t the stable genius who said that he could end the Russia-Ukraine War in one day? If Trump isn’t a Russian agent, he’s playing one perfectly well. Like my wife always says, “Reality can be stranger than fiction.”
So if Russia is sending money to Iran,
And now Trump is paying Russia a high price for diesel.
Isn't Trump indirectly funding Iran's war against America? (While taking a cut in the process?)
